About
Salvation is the act of saving from sin or evil, or sometimes just from an unpleasant situation. The word salvation comes from the Latin salvare, "to save." Each of the monotheistic religions has a different idea about the way to achieve salvation. Christians believe they need salvation from sin because sin stops people from having a proper relationship with God. All Christians believe that Jesus saved people from sin (atonement) by his death on the cross. Catholics and Orthodox Christians believe that Jesus brings salvation through the sacraments of the Church. In Christianity, salvation (also called deliverance or redemption) is the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences—which include death and separation from God—by Christ's death and resurrection, and the justification entailed by this salvation. As a new follower of Christ or one that wants to understand better salvation, we have provided an in-depth study about the five conditions of salvation and how they apply then to the doctrine of living a Christ like life.
